Maybe you usually sleep like a log, but most likely if you live in a particularly hot area in summer it will be hard for you to sleep. Wherever you live, where you go on vacation, if you go to sleep in a hot place, we recommend you follow these tips.
1. AIR THE HOUSE IN THE MORNING
One of the best known tips is to take advantage of the fresh air in the morning to aerate the house.Close the windows early in the morning and, once the heat has left the room, close them well and lower the blinds. The most important thing is to keep the room dark, so if your house does not have blinds, you should invest in good dark curtains.
2. USE MINT ESSENTIAL OIL
With the heat we usually feel the body very heavy, especially the legs . It is a very uncomfortable feeling, especially at the time of going to sleep. This is our advice: put a few drops of peppermint essential oil on your hands and massage your feet and legs. This oil has a refreshing effect and helps to remove the feeling of heaviness so you can fall asleep . To combat this particularly unbearable heat, we recommend you massage your temples and neck with a little essential oil of mint (good quality!).
3. NEITHER COLD NOR HOT: SHOWER WITH WARM WATER!
The magic word for the shower is “lukewarm”. It is very tempting to take a cold shower before going to bed, but remember that if you shower with very cold water you will only refresh yourself for a while, since your body will soon produce more heat. That is to say, you will end up having more heat than at the beginning. Before going to bed, give yourself a shower with warm water and do not dry yourself completely! Lie down and let the water evaporate little by little. You will see what a refreshing effect!🙂
4. HANG A DAMP TOWEL IN YOUR ROOM
If you do not have a humidifier you can wet a couple of towels in water, drain them well and place them on top of the radiator or hang them on a clothesline. They will make the atmosphere of the room more pleasant and bearable.
Note: if your bedroom is already too hot, we do not recommend you to follow this advice … it would be like being in the rainforest!
5. EAT WELL
Everything you eat during the day influences your rest, so eat well and you will see that you sleep better (and save yourself so much sweat!). Dinner something light like salads and avoid eating during the day foods like garlic and ginger that help to warm up.
